This is pretty much a non-story, and right now it doesn't seem to be catching fire with the media, even with the increased attention on his candidacy. Dean's handling it beautifully.

He *is* handling it beautifully, and as far as the story not becoming a big raging deal, it helps that we have the golden gift of the Bush twins' adventures in lawbreaking to keep the Repiglican finger-pointing in check.

I originally thought Dean came back to Burlington Monday because he was in Maine and needed a break.

He came back (and lost some of his advantage in the Larry King interview) because he loves his son. He came to be with his son when the legal decision came down, to support him as a father but also to support the court in its right to pass judgement.

I think that says all that needs to be said about the man. He is a mensch.

Paul, we're sorry we are taking your dad away so much of the time. But we need him, too.
