That 'Dean Depression' crap was such a meatball. Whump, you could hear Leiberman's campaign hit the floor. Let that Republican wanna-be try and make that argument. And puh-lease let the Republicans try and repeat it. Their glass house will look like the proverbial 'China Shop' to the 'Bull' Bushco let loose in it. Still with the attacks Dean knew were coming, he stayed focussed. The smile showed him barely able to hide his glee at this fastball over the plate. This is a virtually perfect place for the campaign to be. There is nothing the opposition can get going that is not based on the Rove school of ethics and that is precisely what gets 'Deaniacs' active.

Bring Bush on. Bring 'em home. Bring us back our country!

I watched a MSMBC "imbedded" reporter
say that when Leiberman make that crack the sign up leaped 6000 names.

You gotta love Lieberman for inciting more volunteers for Dean.

Lieberman is a pathetic. If he were nominated I'd vote for Bush. At least Bush is honest about being a neocon jackass.

Typical.
Just shows that Holy Joe really is Bush-lite. Even attacks the Democratic frontrunner with unsubstantiated arguements and accusations (as BushCo is bound to).

Really Joe - raising taxes back to the Clinton era levels will create a depression? Hmmm, didn't seem to be a problem for Clinton.

If we are spending that money on healthcare, we will be freeing up the money currently spent on healthcare by the average American than will *ever* be generated by the tax structure as it is. We can also be assured that the money is spent domestically. How much of that Bush tax cut is being invested overseas? Does building another third world shoe factory or outsourcing center really help the American economy?

With real healthcare, how many Americans will be able to avoid bankruptcy cause by medical expenses?

How many will treat illnesses that today keep them out of work?

I don't know the answer to these questions, but I can speculate that cutting the wasted money and time that the current system propagates will more than make up for the cost of the program.

Even this short resoponse has a thousand times more substance than Lieberman's fear-mongering accusations.

For those who missed it, or even for those who just want a collection of video clips from it...

I have on my site all the questions and answers that Dean fielded, as well as the lieberman "throw his carrer away comment"

Also on that clip, watch how he cocks his neck after he tries to respond to Dean's followup...

... and I also made a "miserable failure clip"

I got to Admit lastnight open up the primaries again.
Excluding another Bush (Lieberman) ,I want to hear more from the rest of them.
I was really impressed with ex Illinois Senator Braun or Brown,
She had great control on her subject matter.
I know she has baggage the repubs would use against her ,but since Bush can do no wrong according to the pubs.I think she could get past her history.
At anyrate if there is a Democrat winner in 2004 her name ought to be on alot of shortlists for the Cabinent.

Kerry didn't Attack Dean shows me much.
The Congressman from Missouri did a pretty good job though he is a 2 time loser atleast.

Get this straight Dean didn't lose points with me. It's just the others recieve some.

Part 4 of JUSIPER's "How Dean Can Win: A Response to the Naysayers" is up. Read it.

You missed some juicy bits.

"Gephardt is exactly the sort of politician who overdoses on a good idea because he thinks it's a cure-all. Example: Gephardt's fifth use of the "miserable failure" line was in defense of repealing all of Bush's tax cuts, even the parts that went to the middle class."

Gephardt is copying Dean, and most think he won the debate by out-Deaning Dean. But Dean has gotten beyond Dean. He's working to win the election, not the nomination.

Dean combines the qualities of Barry Goldwater and Bill Clinton. Red meat and coherent stands for the new liberal movement. Triangulation and careful executive calculation for the Clinton lovers.

Plus, thanks to the fact that he built a life and a marriage for a dozen years before entering politics full-time (in 1991), no bimbo eruptions.

Did anyone just see NOW with Moyers on PBS? Lots on "free trade" and those elusive labour standards: not very enforcable in places like Thailand, where you fool Nike into believing you are meeting their standards, and the government won't step in to enforce standards because Nike will take their business elsewhere and Thailand loses the investment.
Makes me believe the fair labour standards should be applied to both the COMPANY importing AND ALL the governments where they do business. Globalization is clearly out of control and the workers are getting squeezed so we can have $10 shoes at Wal-mart. Grr.
