I'm voting for Dean, but... Enough of the Kerry bashing already. He is an honorable man. Bush just gave a horrible national speach and this is the material I find on the Blog? Get your priorities straight. Ohioan | Email | Homepage | 09.07.03 - 8:01 pm | #

Agreed. I would vote for Kerry if he somehow beats Dean. Otherwise, Dean is the man, and the GOP should be the target, not fellow Dems. psdem | Email | Homepage | 09.07.03 - 9:35 pm | #

kerry aside, this is terrible. i hated this problem when the crowds would come out to protest the war and nobody the hell knew what the numbers were. the protest group would cite one number, the cops and media would invariably undercut that figure. there should be a system in place that takes the controversy out of the competing estimates.
here we are, supposedly the most technologicaly advanced nation on earth... and we can't count people. niner | Email | Homepage | 09.07.03 - 10:27 pm | #

I was in San Fransico after the Feb. protests. The Chronicle had a huge "expose" on the real size of the crowd (estimated at 100,000-250,000). Their computerized count gave only 60,000 people at the peak time.
There is nothing more political than crowd sizes.
Of course, this is fairly stupid -- the only thing that really matters is the vote counts on election day (and who counts the votes, per Stalin). Luke Francl | Email | Homepage | 09.07.03 - 10:36 pm | #

Amen! No Kerry bashing wanted here! (And I put in 12 hour+ days promoting Dean here in da burgh!) Dean sells himself, no invidious comparisons or trashing necessary. Rob Beckwith, Pittsburgh for D | Email | Homepage | 09.07.03 - 11:08 pm | #

That link goes to the Boston Herald, not the Globe. Big difference. Seems like the difference between the Washington Post and the Washington Times. jumbo | Email | Homepage | 09.08.03 - 12:52 am | #

I'm not Kerry bashing, but the fact of the matter is that Kerry's campaign is in real funk and the little bit about the Boston and Washington offices fighting between each other just proves it. Anyone who has played sports or follows sports knows that when a team is fighting amongst itself, they will surely lose. That seems to be the case with Kerry's campaign.
