Could someone with daily access to either Trippi or the Governer please ask him to stop with the jabs at Clark? These are off-message and off-putting. I am a solid Dean supporter and contributer to the campaign and each time I hear the "Republican until 25 days ago" comment, I cringe. Other Dean supporters I have talked to feel the same way. He simply doesn't need to do this--Clark is not the threat the press have been making him.

Ditto Martin. STOP IT NOW!! Clark is not the one we need to beat.(unless Clark takes off the gloves and starts acting like Gep/Lieb/Kerry which I doubt he will)
I said it on a post here a few weeks ago. Don't bash Clark. I don't think you've lost much support _yet_ but you will if you don't cut it out. Dean is better than that.

As far as Dean calling Clark a Repub until 25 days ago, I'm all for it. Praising Bush and the PNAC crowd and raising funds for the Republican Party in Arkansas is not the kind of Democrat we need in the Party, let alone as Presidential nominee. I'm growing to despise Clark more and more every day. There is something Dr. Strangelovian about him. You'd think that if he was going to run for the Democratic nomination that he'd at least register as a Democrat before tossing his hat into the ring. Where was all that managerial skill generals are suppose to have?

folks, i gotta agree with terry. while i welcome clark (and anyone else of other party affiliation) to the party, i cannot support nominating him as president. he's not even a registered democrat and he's consistently supported republicans. until he comes clean and explains his conversion, he doesn't pass my smell test.
plus, someone commented the other day with an analogy that made a lot of sense to me. we're talking aout nominating someone to be the standard-bearer of the party. making clark president would be much like me saying, "oh, i was a jew until last month now i'm a catholic. and by the way, make me the pope." do you see what i mean?
sorry guys. i know it might sting, and honestly i think there's got to be a better way for dean to get this point across, but it is a valid argument against the clark candidacy. so what i'm saying is i disagree with the way dean's getting the message out, but i agree with the content.

This is really on topic, even if it doesn't seem so:
New poll finds Edwards in lead in South Carolina. Think about it: Edwards IS the southerner we need, not Clark. And, he's been sounding pretty good at the debates, I might add.
Dean/Edwards might be better than Dean/Clark.

Instead of saying "Clark was a Republican until 3 weeks ago", Dean can simply say "Clark is not a Democrat" - and that takes care of that.

Remember, everyone in this coutry gets to self-identify whatever they want. So if Clark wants to call himself a Democrat, then that is great. I do think it is interesting that the campaign has taken "He's not a Democrat" approach to Clark.
It is only fair to show Democratic voters that this man does not have a history with the party. If voters want to nominate a Democratic candidate who voted for Nixon and Reagan, then there really is no difference in the two parties.

Or better yet, why not just not say anything about Clark and let the other guys do it?
I dislike Kerry MUCH less than I despise Gephardt and Lieberman because Kerry's strategy of hanging back (a bit) and letting the other guys take their blows out on Dean has worked. When the other guys attack Dean it makes them look desperate.

I think it's fine Dean brings up what some construe as attacks on Clark's . People should know that Clark is a republican who is trying to crash the Dem ticket because he know's he has no chance as an independant.
I thought Dean was brilliant on talk of the Nation and reached alot of people.
