So Jimmy Carter, another great leader in terms of Defense, snicker, says he'll support whoever he thinks will have the best chance of winning in November. So, why not support Dean now? Perhaps he's going to wait and support the person who's going to win, George W. Bush. Either way, it's a blow to Dean.

I don't think any of the BIG Name Democrats want to endorse at this time. It's only proper to let the primary process -- the people choosing process -- pick the nominee.

The purpose of an Open Primary, like the one we have now, is to have the candidates battle it out and the best one -- the one with the best message, communications, organizing, and fundraising skills -- will win. Last year I was supporting Al Gore until he bowed out. Now, I'm an ardent Dean supporter and won't back Al, even though I still respect him, if he decides to jump back in the race, which he won't.

hey Kevin, welcome back did you ever finish getting your photos of all the candidates?

I think yo'uve drunk the Kool Ad though on Carter. Its become conservative dogma that Carter was a bad president, unfirtunately the facts contradict the assertion. If you read the link, youll see Carter give quite a good defense of his own presidency.

And it really doesnt matter what conservatives think of Carter. Moderates on the other hand have a more.. moderate view. As such, an endorsement of the sincerest, humblest, most authentic president since Lincoln is quite likely to carry weight.

it's an accepted fact that carter and dean get along real well. and it's also an accepted fact that most of the big names will not be endorsing candidates until after the people vote.

hey kev, still planning on caucusing for dean? *busted*

I'll probably still caucus for Dean. I would rather see him get the nod in Iowa than Gephardt. Aziz, I did get all the orginal nine. I am sans Clark who hasn't been to my neck of the woods. He was here for the debate, but was in and out faster than Clinton on an intern.
