One person at a time! In passing, I struck up a conversation with a devoted Republican at a local store, who was grumbling about this current administration for the economy and Iraq.

Most of his friends are getting laid off left and right, and his best friend in Iraq was thrown into the brig for 30 days for telling and refusing to retract his statement to a reporter (never published) saying that the conditions were poor and the objectives were unclear.

This friendly fellow was hell bent on not voting for GWB again, but was waiting until election time to find out more about the potential nominees.

Politely, I told him that maybe he should really look into Howard Dean when he gets the chance.

Keep up the good work. Every one else reading this blog can take a page out of this book. I will admit to hating GW as much as anyone but I keep that in check when I'm preaching to the as yet unconverted. Don't be fooled by polls. We have our work cut out for us. Don't get mad, complacent nor harrassing, get active!

Molly Ivins is a fighter. Howard Dean is a fighter.

I'm willing to fight for both, and fight anyone in this here bar on their behalf as well.

That's not because I agree with them 100%. I don't. But we need fighters right now, all we can get.

And anyone on this blog who doesn't understand that, well, I apologize for my tone.

But I'm sick of turning the other cheek. And I'm sick of being called a traitor in turn by right-wing trolls inside and outside the Administration who project their own hate on me.

I will no longer stand silent.
