I think you are right. There needs to be an open amount block. I still think there needs to be a monthly contribution option ( See Mercy Corp site for how they have this set up) I don't know how much they are paying for this service, Paypal does want a chunk for collecting. But they also make alot of people feel safer about donating on line.

I agree,
I went through the process a few days ago..
I e-mailed a concern that there is nothing available to give between $100-$250...which is where I was going with it...they do have an arrow pull down that has the choice meet-up challange...so the one penny option is not nessesary

sorry about that..I didn't think it worked

If EVERY Meetupper pledged $100 on celebration day that would be

$3,200,000 !!!!!!!!!

Talk about a story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all anybody would be talking about for a month! There would be no stopping Dean. He would be THE democratic candidate in everyone's mind. We can do this!

this is the FIRST time I have given a national candidate money, and first time I have actively promoted a national candidate..,,,I don't think I'm alone...I don't think the DLC..are counting people like me ...

Send your suggestions for an open amount category for contributions to Joe Trippi. His address is...
joe@deanforamerica.com

And make sure there's an easy to find link to the check contribution print-out form. These can be printed en-masse and passed around at meetups and at tabling events. I had a hard time finding it on the site and that's just unacceptable. I'll go write an entry on my new Joe Trippi blog.

The fixed amount really sucks. I can only donate a little here and there. Money is tight. If I try to save a bulk sum to donate at one time, I have a better chance of spending it prior to donating.

Hey, if something comes up that needs spending and I have to tap into the Dean donation jar, then I have to do it.

I can't give much, but I am willing to give. My contributions is more along the lines of $10 every few weeks.

For the Dean folks, they need to make it easier for people to give rather than restrict us. Small but ongoing donations will go a long way. Small makes us comfortable to give for the first time. Kinda testing the waters and helping us change our mindset. Most of us has never given before, and $25 is a one pack of diapers or 2/3 the price for birth control pills.

To some us, this is not chump change.
