I'm pro-Dean, and I vote!
Not sure when you posted this, but Howard already has a solid lead of 30% of those polled. Next is Kucinich at 24%. The other viable candidates are much lower, generally. BriVT | Email | Homepage | 06.06.03 - 12:50 pm | #

What's more interesting, Bri (nice to see you outside of Kos, although it does confirm for me the sickening incestuousness of all of ths ), is that Dean is at 25% in the "who can beat Bush" question. The next closest is "none of the above" with 18%! folkbum | Email | Homepage | 06.06.03 - 1:02 pm | #

I was just noticing that myself, folkbum. We've got our work cut out for us changing that mind set. Sherri in TX | Email | Homepage | 06.06.03 - 1:11 pm | #

I think that one of the most interesting things about this poll is that although only 10% of people answering the poll like John Kerry, 16% think he can win. That could be very damaging for us (people don't want to support someone they don't think can win, so they decide to give their vote to someone they think can. Dean was very high in the poll as a candidate people liked, but fewer people thought he could win. We need to create strategies that paint Dean as the underdog who is rising to victory (taking a play from the Rove handbook!). Diana | Email | Homepage | 06.06.03 - 3:32 pm | #

Diana, good points, I noticed that also. However it gave me optimism that Kucinich's (Vote for/Can beat Bush) ratio was 12/24 was Dean's was a far better 27/32. While not as good as Kerry's 16/10, Dean at least still considered far from a Kucinich in the "electability" category. You're right about Dean needing to prove to primary voters that he can win.
