Thanks for starting this weblog, Dean's a Democratic candidate who deserves to be seriously thought of in contention against the assumed.

Hey Aziz, I live in TX as well(UT student); I got the site from MyDD & looked over the articles(which are great), but why would you take a vote from Gore in a close(if not toss-up) state like OR in order to give him a vote in the middle of "Bush Country?"
Forget about the Florida recount, such improper vote-swapping could have produced an even more tragic and frustrating scenario.

I probably should blog about vote-swapping over at my full-time blog, unmedia.blogspot.com. Yeah, I'll do it...

but the short version is, I wanted to vote Gore (lesser of evils, Cthulhu wasn't running, etc). A vote for Gore in Texas is a wasted vote, so I vote-swapped with a Nader supporter in OR. That way I voted for Nader and the other guy voted for Gore (in OR, where it counted).

turns out that vote-swapping is robust and a no-lose situation for Gore supporters in 2000. Dean is running for the Dem nomination though, so if he wins it would be the same thing as with Gore - wasted vote here in Texas. So I will probably have to vote-swap again no matter who I vote for.

Sorry, I totally misread your comment; first week of college can do that to you!
