Mosely-Braun who was reportedly urged to run by Donna Brazille to lull African-American voters away from Al Sharpton may do the same to Lieberman who is popular in the African-AMerican community. Less support for Lieberman might move all candidates a bit close rin the polls making Dean a more equal contender. Anonymous | Email | Homepage | 01.17.03 - 4:38 pm | #

If Carol Moseley-Braun enters the race, I'd be surprised if she DIDN'T become a major contender. As an Illinoisan who was active in CMB's 1992 David-and-Goliath battle against incumbent Senator Alan Dixon, I know what a compelling candidate she can be. She is extremely charismatic and has a remarkable ability to make people feel connected to the process. She is a grassroots progressive and has a strong history on women's issues and gay issues. If she enters, she hurts Howard, John Kerry and Al Sharpton. Her previous victories have been the result of very energetic support from these constituencies and there were large numbers of suburban female crossover votes. Her smile is magnetic, her passion is genuine and if she's up there on the stage with the rest of the boys, she just might steal the show. ChicagoSteve | Email | Homepage | 01.22.03 - 12:15 pm | #
