this line from the article nails it: "In fact, both Sharpton and Dean share the line on the stump that at least President John F. Kennedy could show evidence of a Cuban Missile Crises in pictures, something President Bush has yet to show in the pending war against Iraq."

What else should we expect? Dean's gotta avoid letting the Wills, Kurt's, Kondrake's, and Fineman's of the world define him. In just the past week I can't see Dean's name without Sharpon's immediately following (like their joined at the hip or something!), or the phrase "Dark Horse", or "49th largest state", or "pacifist base" to describe who Dean's talking to regarding Iraq. I know its WAY early folks but if Dean gets stigmatized this early to people who aren't particularly political by nature (unlike any of you that are reading this!), it could spell trouble. What we need is a good opinion piece by a E.J. Dionne or a Jules Witcover!!!!

If anyone wants wants a quick read about the tactics of the media and the right, I recommend David Brock's Blinded by the Right, a bestseller last year. MG is on target: The attacks will come, and not just from Bush or the RNC, but through their media puppets (GE and NBC, Fox, Limbaugh, Hannity, Wills, ad nauseum). They have perfected the art of political destruction and all I can suggest is massive letter writing to these fools. Massive amounts of letters every time they distort by mouth or in print. Be vigilent!

I'd be happy to help out with getting some of this stuff posted. I work in a field where the work comes in waves, and the tide seems to be pretty low at the moment, so I do have time these days--plus I love this blog and would be happy to do my part to get Dean's message out.
