I was at the meetup in New York, at which we distributed individual campaign donation forms. We need to donate, and we need to donate individually in order to get matching funds. |

Brendan, would you mind giving us the lo-down on the New York meeting you attended? |

I'm glad to hear the Meetups went so well! My only complaint is that here in NJ, we've got a ton of Meetup areas and only a few people signed up in each, so the North Jersey Meetup was actually cancelled due to a lack of interest! Is there any way we can coordinate this better so that Newark-Jersey City, Northern New Jersey, and Middlesex County can all take part in one Meetup? Anyone have any thoughts on this? |

thanks, CAPJ, it's updated! |

Last night, the turn-out at the Dean in 2004 Meet-up in NW Portland |

Unfortunately my MeetUp in SE Virginia had to be cancelled. I'm interested in viewing the tape sent from the National Office. |

Seattle's meetup went well also. We had something like 11 confirmed out of 26 names on the site but it seemed to me there were more people than that there, and there was plenty of energy in the room. For a first step, I'd say it went quite well! We ended up with a yahoo group, and there seemed to be a lot of interest in being the local branch of the Dean campaign as well. Endorsing the meetups was a good idea for Dean -- he now has willing shock troops all over the country! |

NYC meetup was fantastic! There was a ton of energy and enthusiasm. We had over 15 people & already have plans to get together again next week. (Anna, I sent a longer description of our meeting to Jerome earlier today, in case he wants to post it.) |

The meet-up in Chicago was also great. We had about 15 people with an impressive range of skills to bring to Dean's grassroots campaign. The host of the event is putting together an email list for the attendees, so we'll be able to communicate between meetings. Like the NYC'ers, we discussed fund-raising ideas and ways of getting Dean more name recognition. The Yahoo! group is a great idea. Maybe we should do that here in the Windy City as well. |

Baltimore's Meetup went great as well. We had 8 very enthused people, tossed around get out the message ideas, are all now on each others email lists, and discussed ways to get our local elected officials involved and endorsing Dean. I think it would be a great idea if geographically close areas (Washington DC & Baltimore or New York City & New Jersey, etc.) would begin sharing their compiled email lists so that we can all coordinate local efforts and pass the word about local upcoming events. We're going to try real hard to get Dean here in Maryland to one of our counties upcoming Jefferson/Jackson Day Dinners!! If anyone that attended the Washington DC Meetup that would like to coordinate and share information with the Baltimore Bunch, contact me at mchmgeorge@aol.com |
