Yahoo News reports that according to the latest opinion polls Bush would loose to a democrat by 48-44% of the vote if the election were held today. This is without a nominee being named. What we have to do is get our fuckin base out so we can outvote the fuckin degenerate Repbulican voters in 2004. Dean seems like the man to do it. Beyond the base...I wouldn't dismiss Republicans. I think Dean has potential to appeal to "Rockefeller Republicans", Northeastern moderates who won't be blinded by the civil unions bit, and attracted to his fiscal responsibility (read: sanity).
Confine Bush to the Bible Belt, maintain Gore's states (AND Florida), and Dean wins. Joe Mariani | Email | Homepage | 03.06.03 - 5:12 pm | #

I absolutely agree that Dean has potential to appeal to "Rockefeller Republicans."
In fact, I met one at our Meetup in Minneapolis last night. And she is disgusted enough by Bush and excited enough by Dean to get involved and recruit friends.
We absolutely must connect with people like this. As we do, the tag "ultra-liberal" will be less and less believable. davidkrew | Email | Homepage | 03.06.03 - 7:25 pm | #

i like to say that dean is a democrat that even a republican could love.
as for winning, yea, i say we leave the bible belt to bush. we only need to pick up two small states or one big one (like FLA) to win next time. at the tarrant meeting, we discussed the possibility of picking up louisiana and arkansas, which would ensure a win provided that the parties get the same states they won last time. =)
i really do think we have a winner here, folks. anna | Email | Homepage | 03.07.03 - 10:37 am | #

We had a Bush voter at our meetup in Portland as well. He said he was so ashamed and vowed to do whatever he could to help Dean.
