04/09/2002 Archived Entry: "Texas races"
"A poll of registered voters last week by The Dallas Morning News indicated a wide-open race for the Senate seat this fall."
That poll found Kirk ahead of Cornyn by a 44-39 margin. Coupled with two polls out yesterday by TDMN, showing Governor: Gov. Rick Perry (R) 50%, Tony Sanchez (D) 36%. Lieutenant governor: John Sharp (D) 42%, David Dewhurst (R) 41%... hey, things are going to be hot in Texas elections this year.
Morales was bitter about his defeat. Kirk kicked his ass 60-40, and has his sights now on Cornyn. A very good toss-up race is developing here.
The Dems don't have much of a shot in CD-26, but it was good to see Dick Armey's son Scott go down in defeat. Why? Because I'm tired of seeing these dynastic families of ineptitude becoming so familiar, on both sides.
As we go to press, we hear that Majority Leader Dick Armey is block walking this afternoon with son Scott in the CD26 race. Last time around, Papa Armey said that he was going to a hockey game because at least that outcome was uncertain. Apparently, there is less certainty in the runoff. www.quorumreport.com
That ought to be good enough for you to ROTFLYAO!

Yes, Mydd, you are on the nose again. Kirk vs. Cornyn is shaping up to be great, and Texas is looking VERY good for the Dems this year. GO DREAM TEAM!
