Green Party candidate Doug Campbell gets removed from the gubernatorial forum by Brighton police after he refused to leave. The forum was open to candidates properly registered for the primary with the secretary of state. The forum was sponsored by the MLCV Education Fund for the six primary candidates of the Republican and Democratic parties.
I'm guessing here that Campbell isn't registered for the primary because the Greens have no primary, just their nomination and a place in the general. This sounds like a loophole that the Republicrats have found to keep 3rd parties out of primary debates. Next, for the General, will Campbell have entry I would assume, or be told that the forum is open to candidates who show up in the polls... Anyway, the screamer makes good news for Campbell image-wise --a Green candidate getting dragged away from participating an environmental forum for candidates-- I can't imagine a better way for the Democrats and Republicans to kickstart this guys campaign, give him free media coverage, and fire up the MI Green activists. And the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, what were they thinking about here?

DD, I live in Michigan and this is the first I've heard of it!!! (and today's the 24th of May!)
THe greens don't register here, nor do any of the third party candidates....
I'm sure Dave Bonior has all the "Greens" locked up for the primary already....

Jesrf, I emailed the MLCV asking more info about this. They didn't respond.
