06/01/2002 Archived Entry: "Election 2002"

Here are three links posted below by G.C. Raj that are good reads, the first by Marc Sandalow Island in a Republican world in the San Francisco Chronicle goes to show what what happens to an expert journalist when the become part of the DC groupthink-- a Republican island to itself.

And as he points out, it's does not gel with the reality, even by the standards of Business Week's surprisingly informative, Election 2002 is suddenly becoming a real nail-biter for the GOP's hopefuls, and USA Today's poll-byte, Quest to control Congress wide open.

btw, because I'm to lazy to be embedding the linkscript with opening a new window, an easy trick to opening a new window (wondering if I'm the last one to learn this) is to rightclick on the link -menu- leftclick on "Open in New Window".

I will do the same for you on my political webpage under the Weblogs section. Your wonderful shot there of the hilarious front page of "Bush's Historic Speech" in 'die tageszeitung' broght me a laugh, I'd heard about it but not seen it yet.

Another Washington Inside Speak. He does not rate Maryland eighth or Ehrlich's former seat a true toss up. He does not even know that the Morella race covered by Washington Post two days ago is a toss-up, and this is inside the beltway! I actually expected better of Rothenberg.

With jobs hard to come by, I have no clue how the DC inside speakers think that there would be status quo. Add to that the state budget crunch. The people usually take it out on the politicians.

I agree, that Rothenburg piece was pretty old news. I'll make my own top ten toss-ups later this week.
