I find this whole Harken insider deal of extreme interest, and have been reading about 10-15 articles a day on it all over the net. One of the most interesting revelations to date has benn the "secret buyer" of Bush's stock. The average daily volume was less than 10k for the stock, and yet, Bush unloaded his whole 212,000 block at a fixed price to a buyer whose identity is being kept secret. Now, this is one hell of a lure.

A dozen years later, it is still not known who bought Mr. Bush's shares, or why the buyer made the offer at that time. Mr. Smith said he would not disclose the buyer's identity except to say that it was an institutional investor.

Keeping in mind the above articles mention of the Bass brothers, and this AP wire story, Secrecy surrounds Bush stock deal, now you are ready to read this speculation: The love connection between George Bush and Lee Bass. Conason wrote that Lewis thinks the buyer was Harvard, but since I've seen this on DU's MB's yesterday, I've been leaning toward the Bass connection.
