Nation in a nutshell presents a good write-up on the 7th CD: The six candidates for the new 7th Congressional District each marched in Golden's Buffalo Bill Days parade. Back row, from left: Joe Rogers (Republican), Mike Feeley (Democrat), Bob Beauprez (Republican). Front row, from left: Rick O'Donnell (Republican), Sam Zakhem (Republican), Dave Thomas (Democrat). Political strategists consider the race a good barometer of the nation's mood in a pivotal election year.

A guide for those seeking election in CO: U.S. House candidate profiles. One note, Thomas says that he "favorite book" is Atlas Shrugged, by Ann Rand. That's just bizarre. Maybe he resonates with the CO oil-tycoons in the book.

Without a doubt, Dubya (aka. WWJD) has something to learn from Musgrave and McDonnell, adding for the next Q & A the favorite book as The Bible, next to his favorite philosopher.... that love-thy-neighbor turn-the-other-check guy.

Colorado and and New Mexico would be very critical to the control of the US House, and perhaps the US Senate. I would be in both states from August 30 to September 8. It would be interesting.

AVADem, Sadly, you're probably right about Musgrave over Matsunaka in november, but I hope not. She is a down-the-line right wing extemist freak. At least, that's my opinion :)

Posted by Adam @ 08/12/2002 02:00 PM PST

AVADem, Your picks and numbers look good for Nov, except that Libertarian Stanley is going to pull 5% from Allard, making it a lot closer. As long as the GOP is in the minority, Musgrave will do more harm than good for her extreme causes. Matsunaka needs to get off his haunches and out-raise her to win.
