Read the text of Daschle's Senate floor speech, it's all right there to see, and out in the open now. Every move that Bush/Cheney/Republicans make on advancing the war between now and Novemeber 5th will be looked at through the prisim of their politicizing the war toward Republican gains. In itself, the Democrats stepping up to curb the Republicans use of war rhetoric is not going to stop them from exploiting the issue. What speaks louder to them is the money wing of the party, and they are also telling the White House to tone down the rhetoric, in the WJS: Hell No, We Won't Buy: Is the stock market sending an antiwar message? ...the renewed decline in stock prices also appears to correlate closely to the rise in the Bush administration's apparent determination to use armed force against Iraq.
