US Senate Shakedown
The Senate looks increasingly muddled. Lots of tough choices, depending probably on a few thousand votes here, a few there... there's 8 races which could turn out either way, and another couple, SC, which SUSA says is close, but Mason-Dixon calls a blowout (before you laugh this equation off, consider that M-D polled Barr leading Linder by 4% just days prior to Linder winning by ~20% and all of SUSA's other numbers look fine-- given their demographic sample that leans conservative, I don't know how) ; and then there's MN, where the GOP polls show it a toss-up-- if you want to believe it, go ahead! Zogby polling (subscribe here) is due out on Sunday with their last update, and will likely further confuse the polling picture. Here's a snapshot of the Senate races going into the GOTV weekend. The Democrats are showing momentum in NC, NH, TX, SC and the Republicans are showing momentum in GA, MO, CO; while the TN, AR contests still look about the same, and SC, MN nobody knows-- and probably none of you agree with that assessment. I've tossed them around a bit on the Senate 2002 rankings, and will guess again where they fall, next Monday (see you then). As for the Governor races, check this out in Oklahoma.
