Bush at 55
Not that it's anything to get that excited about, because it's means a nearly given re-election number at this time, but both Liberal Oasis and HNN want to know more about that TIME poll that shows:
Well, it's not on Pollkatz or Polling Report yet, two sites that report all polling, but it's probably due to the holidays. Update: Here's another poll done in the last week that shows Bush in the 50's. On the economy, 39% approve, 47% disaprove: Concerns Over Economy Halt Bush Approval Rating Gains. Damn the Liberal Media! Posted by: NJDem1 on December 26, 2002 11:06 PMIf anyone didn't get it I was being sarcastic with my last post. Posted by: NJDem1 on December 26, 2002 11:08 PMDon't know, there are other polls that I think were taken around the same time showing Bush at 66% and 63%. MyDD, you get my last email? Posted by: Adam T on December 26, 2002 11:34 PMIn recent months, within a given poll, there's been about a 20-point difference between Bush's job approval rating (usually in the mid-low 60s) and his re-elect number (i.e., would people "probably" or "definitely" vote for Bush, which has been in the mid-low 40s). Unquestionably, there are a lot of people out there who will say they approve of Bush's job approval at the moment, but are not prepared to say they would vote for him for re-election. If the Time/CNN 55% approval rating is truly indicative of a long-term decline in Bush's job evaluation, his re-elect number would almost certainly have to show some erosion, too. Posted by: Alan on December 26, 2002 11:55 PMReynolds is saying in an email that it's a fake poll, lol. The conservatives know it's bad news. That's the poll, but it's a short piece on the info. Posted by: MyDD on December 27, 2002 04:48 AMThe numbers are slipping--better get the war back in the headlines. Posted by: on December 27, 2002 01:34 PMPollkatz has it plotted on the graph now - it's the purple triangle at the end of the graph. Let's not panic that the media isn't covering this right now - it's not as if anyone would be paying attention to the media anyway Christmas and New Years weeks. Posted by: CA Pol Junkie on December 27, 2002 01:40 PMNBC News just reported that Senator Bill Frist's plane flipped over on takeoff at a Tennesee airport. The Senator, one of his sons and his cousin were on board, along with staff members. That's all I heard. I pray to God that Senator Frist and the rest of those onboard are okay. Posted by: Mr. Liberal on December 27, 2002 02:36 PMThat was Frist's son's plane. Nobody seriously hurt.
