Opps, not too sharp, POLITICS1 explains why: WHAT ABOUT AL? According to the AP, Sharpton will file papers with the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 21. Jerome Armstrong on Jan 4 @ 12:59 PM

Politics1 is wrong on one point. If Sharpton's committee has to file with the FEC, it no longer has to file with the IRS. See my blog for the links. http://votelaw.blogspot.com/2002_12_29_votelaw_archive.html#90142762 Posted by: Ed Still on January 4, 2003 04:31 PMDid you know Sharpton was ordained a Reverend at age 9? I found that out at CNN's website. Regardless, I don't think Sharpton will get very far in the primaries. At worst for him, he'll end up like Alan Keyes in 2000, running and getting nowhere. At best, he draws enough support to frighten the Democrats, who then rally behind another candidate (like Jackson in 1988). The reason Sharpton will not do well, in my opinion, is that he is seen as too liberal, too controversial and too outspoken by many Americans in this country. Point in mind: An ARG poll in NOV. gave Sharpton an upside-down favoribility rating-among Democrats. Mind you, he could garner a few delegates, but if Donna Brazile is successful with her favorite-son campaign, Sharpton will get zilch. John Edwards now has a Presidential Website. It is http://www.johnedwards2004.com . It looks like him so far-clean, bright, but also boy-scoutish and fake (the picture of him smiling at "you" on the bio section looked annoying, and the tone of the script there is condescending ("while still performing the difficult task of raising a family..."). Mydd, I'm now going to do a weekly update on NJ politics for Kos. Thanks for the E-Mail. Isn't it nice to see Democrats being Democrats for once? Let's see if this spine-growing lasts, or holds. Posted by: Mr. Liberal on January 4, 2003 05:46 PMAlso, an organic grass roots Edwards Weblog has been started by an individual not conncted to the campaign. I predict a lot of soccer moms getting connected to Edwards on the web the way some others are going for Howard Dean. Let a million blogs bloom........ http://oliverwillis.com/edwards2004/ Posted by: Blogganista on January 4, 2003 06:20 PMThat official Edwards 2004 site is obviously a work in progress. It looks like it is just a place-holder for the time being. Posted by: YooHoo on January 4, 2003 06:31 PMPost a comment
