Howard Dean's message on Meetup.com

I want to thank Meetup.com for creating a platform for people to organize around the issues we all care about.

I hope to attend Meetups of my supporters as I travel the nation, and my campaign will provide suggested issues that need to be discussed, as well as ask for organizational help to build our campaign at future Meetups.

One issue that I think is appropriate for the February 5th Meetup is the pending war with Iraq. I hope that those who attend will look at positions of all the Democratic candidates for President on the war, and square it with the vote they cast on the Iraqi Resolution that gave President Bush a blank check to prosecute the war when he decides to do so. I opposed the Iraqi Resolution and believe the President must make his case to the American people before sending our armed forces in harms way.

Please visit my website at www.deanforamerica.com and I hope to see you at a future Meetup!

Thank You
Howard Dean

Mr Dean,

President Bush HAS made his case to the American people and the American people are ready to lead freedom over tyranny, over evil. We can not wait until Iraq becomes a guaranteed threat to attack. If we could have prevented 9/11 from occuring with a pre-emptive strike we would have, SHOULD have and this is NO Different Mr. Dean. I hope you get your parties nomination, because I think you truly speak the democratic anthem of peaceful reaction to tyranny, to evil when evil only knows DEFEAT. You don't contain evil, you don't peacefully co-exist with evil, you DESTROY evil, you KILL evil and you build a peaceful world by REMOVING evil from the face of the earth whenever you find it's ugly little head. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you, our democratic nominee for President of the United States Governor Howard Dean!

I've signed on.
I look forward to seeing all my fellow Dean supporters next week.

Martin,
While I will stand for your right to express your ideas, I must strongly object to the assertion that by backing Dean we are in any way supporting EVIL.

I don't intend to speak for other members of my party, this Democrat strongly resents any implication that pacifism is supporting terrorism.

My closest friends are in the military, and I don't want them to be sent off to a war to fight "daddy's war". The US was attacked by al-Qeada and OBL. Why are we not sending in our nation's best to find these cowards and bring THEM to justice?

By not giving the peace process and the weapons inspections their due course and arbitrary attacking a nation, which to my knowledge has NOT attacked us, I am afraid we will be unleashing more 9/11 attacks.

As for the Dean nomination, there is an old adage, be careful what you wish for....you just might get it. Howard Dean represnts a pragamatic progressive politics. GWB is bent on using our military for the sake of his re-election.

Even "Stormin' Norman" has concerns about what is going to transpire.

I have a hard time believing that in fact this war will really happen. I know most of the "talking heads" on TV seem convinced, but think about this. When he first came into office, we ended up paying 100 million to get our spy plane back from China. And said we were very sorry. Something, we said we would never do. Then Bush tells Sharon to leave Palestine (Sharon ignores him). Nothing happens. North Korea is allowed to deliver nukes to Yemen (just one time ) and now North Korea has nuclear weapons. Kicks out the weapons inspectors and we offer them money to stop. They ignore us. Nothing happens.. I think Bush may (again) be just alot of Bluster.
