A Bush Rush
Advertisers rushing away from Limbaugh show? "Within 18 hours, RadioShack (RSH) had folded. Within 36 hours, Amtrak was gone, and Bose told us they were no longer advertising on the show," Stinson said.
Other advertisers targeted by Take Back the Media. Boycott 'em, short 'em, send them a email to let them know. Jerome Armstrong on Jan 30 @ 12:09 PM

Isn't this kind of lame and thin skinned? Posted by: Tax Cut Mania on January 30, 2003 12:40 PMWell, what I'd like to see is for those dittoheads to have to listen to the same "grow more hair" advertisments over and over again. Posted by: MyDD on January 30, 2003 12:47 PMI've been contacting these companies. Most satisfying. I figure if nothing else it puts some of the wingnuts on the defensive for awhile. Posted by: Oregonian on January 30, 2003 03:42 PMMyDD: This is the beginning of the end of GOP. I am now more than 100% confident that the next POTUS is either Kerry or Dean. I will have to spend time to figure out who I will support in the primaries now. If Dean is the nominee, then I think he could select Graham as VP. If Kerry is the nominee, I hope he selects John Lewis. Any comments? AliKarimBey Posted by: AKB on January 30, 2003 05:54 PMIt was satisfying. I focused on Rush questioning Tom Daschle's patriotism and referring to him as as "Satan." I'm sure I don't need to remind you that Senator Daschle was the target of a terroristic mailing that has yet to be resolved. The business of governing our country cannot be made any easier knowing that someone with a massive audience is questioning your patriotism and referring to as "Satan" while the person who tried to poison you is still at large. Our country is large and the diversity of its people requires the inclusion of many viewpoints. We are all in this together. Rush Limbaugh specializes in divisive and hateful speech. He makes his living by trying to divide us. I feel this is un-American. I don't think advertisers should support that and I'm willing to back that up with my wallet. Posted by: John K. on January 30, 2003 07:43 PMYes, that's the line to take. Wink. Posted by: Matt on January 30, 2003 10:07 PMI emailed all the Corporate whores! Hit in the wallet where it hurts! Posted by: GaDem on January 31, 2003 06:10 AMI hate to be a party pooper, but if this works I'm sure the conservatives will find something to pull the same trick on. When the smoke clears and everything boycottable has been boycotted, I'm not sure if the media will be better or worse. Posted by: David Weisman on February 1, 2003 06:27 AMI don't think we need to worry about that. Boycotting things is one of the oldest tricks in the book, and conservatives are already doing it, so I don't really think the Rush effort will teach them anything about boycotting they don't already know. See? http://southeasternlegal.org/docs/boycottvermont.html BOYCOTT VERMONT! The formerly Great State of Vermont is now the nation’s leading repository for every hair-brained radical scheme from the burned-out hippie activist subculture. Ethan Allen didn’t fight for this! Check out a few of the more infamous recent embarrassments: 1. The only state that recognizes and protects by law the “union” of homosexuals. 2. The home of the only openly Socialist , anti-individual freedom member of Congress, Bernie Sanders. 3. The home of U.S. Sen. James Jeffords, who selfishly switched political parties to increase his personal clout in the Senate. He is the only member of Congress in U.S. history whose turncoat switch resulted in a wholesale party majority change. 4. The only state in which a left-wing federal court outrageously announced that the state can cut off and cap spending by political campaigns – which is constitutionally protected free speech. 5. The home of U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, the ultraliberal chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which has consistently blocked the appointment of constitutionalists nominated by President George W. Bush for the federal judiciary. 6. The home of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream socialist cooperative. We don’t even think the ice cream is that great. 7. The home of Karen Kerin, the first transsexual to run for Congress. 8. The home of the Vermont Department of Public Health, which received and distributed $20,000 for a Twin State Women’s Network retreat, whose topics included “Toys 4 Us.” The participants received a welcome bag filled with candy, condoms, candles, and massage lotion. The Network receives 86 percent of its funding from the federal government, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PATRIOTIC AMERICANS, FELLOW CONSERVATIVES: "freedom-loving Americans"? Don't they really mean "authority-loving Americans"??? Also, for these wackos information, calling Vermont the "People's Republic of Vermont" is somewhat odd, considering that most Communist countries, especially Cuba, have persecuted gays.
